Right now I am at the point of crying constsantly the pain has gotten so bad. lyrica at first was my wonder drug, it stopped any and al pain. Then I needed an increase and well it mayed me unbearably tired, so I have to stay at a low dose. Right arm is no longer even usable, been this way for four weeks now. Doc says it can't be fibro, since it is only one side. It affects both sides. So she says it is tendinitious and wants to give me a shot. Also right kneeis going down fast. Went to get out of bed and leg gave out. Not fibro at all though. I spent the first part of last week fighting w/ docs every day. Oh also add the fact left shoulder is out also and hurts so bad i get migraines. neurologist gave me blood pressure meds. I am fit to start screaming my fool head off and getting comited to a psych ward, if they would accept my fibro that is. sorry for horrid typing It is all one handed ands I am right handed.

I don't know...my pain is on one side and I have been dx's with fibro.  My right hip, thigh, and knee are the worst.  When I'm in a flare I do get the burning all over my body.  Fibro pain migrates so I don't know why a doc would say it always has to be on  both sides.

I too thought it was the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I do not believe it is tendinitous, but fine give me the shot make me wait longer for relief, then wqhen it does squat for me I can laugh in her face. Annoys me most that my life is doing beadwork, I teach it, live it and breath it. Well I can not bead at all for the last month. It is like taking my world from me. depression of course has set in big time over this. I just want my arm to not hurt on a 110 level. same with my right leg, hurts from the hip to my big toe right now. Going back to bed. thank for the air hug I needed it. That is what my boyfriend does " air hugs" when I hurt so bad he cant touch me.

hope you feel better soon. im also typing 1 hand due 2 broken arm. i also had pain in right arm that actually was tendonitis and the shot was a miracle cure. its not always fibro

My pain is mainly left sided might be cus i think i sleep on that side but hey whats another shoot right? tuesday i go in for some trigger point injections, and considering he promised to dope me up well i won't have to hit him for sticking me 12 times with the needle. I'm sorry you can't bead i know the people with the talent are very passionate about it, my mother does metal work stuff like that i just pick out the rocks =) I'm sorry you have to fight with doctors, sometimes they are so self righteous, i wish to slap them. But i'm over sensitive there due to the fact i am working on a PHD in psychology, so arguing with my family care doctor about how the brain processes pain it just so very irritating!! i wish i could blame my typing on one handedness haha i'm just bad at it and even worse at spelling lol. I hope you feel better soon, but please while comming to visit me at work might sound nice, it's a really crappy way to spend the day.

Sorry to hear you are having a hard time. Let me ask you this, were you diagnosed with fibro by a rheumetologist? If so, then you're doctors can't just ignore that diagnosis and say it is something else. I think you need to consider actual pain meds. For whatever condition they think you have, you are still in pain. If the lower dose of Lyrica isn't enough but you can't take a higher dose because of drowsiness, then you should talk with you doc(s) about pain meds of some kind. What else are you taking? There are also natural meds that can help at least a little bit.

as sassy said, u need actual pain meds too. studies have shown that the combination of tylenol and tramadol (a non-addictive pain med) is the best thing for nerve pain like fibro. i've been on it 6 years and if i miss a dose i remember how much it helps lol. it's generic so not expemsive

Update here. It is my ruemy that diagnosed me grudgingly but now refuses to do a dang thing for this atrocious pain. Now I have a cold that went straight to bronchitus. Yay fun wow right? Coughing fits are leaving me in tears becuase it hurts my tender fibro back and lungs so badly. I guess I go back to fighting docs tomorrow. Still no elbow or shoulder relief. My boyfriend was *****ing his cold the other day. I was like well in a few days your pain will be gone mine will last forever. I get no reprieve. As wonderful as he is, he looked at me and said, " but I would take that pain forever if it meant you wouldn't have it" ha fibro fog I rolled a cig two hours ago and never smoked it lol. Again thankyou everyone for caring so much about me, someone you have never met. This board is an amazing group of who people who truely care.
