Hi-
I have Fibromyalgia and Mixed Connective Tissue Disease among other medical problems and was wondering if someone could give me some insight. I haven't worked in 6 years ( I used to waitress full time). I have signed up for a sub at the local schools to fill in when they need me. Today I was called in to help at the High School Cafeteria which included serving food and running the dishwasher. I was there from 10 am -1:30pm. I was in severe pain with my neck pain and back cramping. I do have arthritis in my back too. My question is........for such few hours is this normal to be in such pain?? By the time I got home I cried for 1/2 hr due to the pain. I take 4 Soma's a day, plaquenil, savella, and arthrotec to help with the fibromyalgia and MCTD. Is this pain normal? I am afraid to ever go back if they call me. I have never had so much pain in my neck before. My back cramps all the time even at home running the vacuum so that was pretty normal. All 3 of my kids are finally ALL in school so I thought subbing in at the school would be a good idea but now I am 2nd guessing. Can the severe neck pain really be from the fibromyalgia? I am afraid I will never be able to work without all this pain and cramping. I also take 2 Flexerill ant night time to help with sleep. I have been in physical therapy 5 x in 2 years running about 2-3 months each session.
Should I contact my doctor?? I just don't know what to do? I was so excited to fill in today but it ended in disaster!! My friend has fibro and is a dental hygenists and works full-time. I am so confused as to why my pain was so intense and yet she can work with minimal pain and NO meds.
Can anyone help me with my confusion??
Thanks-
Kitkat
