Lots of times these medications last longer. I have taken antibiotics for three days but it protects me for up to two weeks. I'm not sure if this is one of them.
I am diabetic and if I have too much sugar in my system, I will get a UTI. I haven't had one in several years now, thank goodness. According to the Mayo Clinic, the following things can irritate your bladder. I'm not sure if they can cause the UTI but this might help until you are totally cleared up.
Bladder irritation. Carbonated drinks, tea and coffee — with or without caffeine — artificial sweeteners, corn syrup, and foods and beverages that are high in spice, sugar and acid, such as citrus and tomatoes, can aggravate your bladder.
Of course, keep yourself hydrated after you are fine. Hope this helps a little.
