i was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 3 weeks ago after dealing with chronic neck pain for 6 years. My GP prescribed an antidepressant (even though I was not depressed) which I was very reluctant to try. Desperate for relief, I took one dose. I had so many bad side effects from that one dose that I decided to start looking for alternative approaches. I gradually eliminated caffeine totally from my daily intake and replaced those drinks with caffeine free herbal teas. I have not had a flare up since I dropped the caffeine. I sleep better and I dont need pain meds. I found Celestial Seasonings has Ginseng energy tea and tension tamer tea to help relax throughout the day but still have energy! For the night, "sweet dreams" by bigelow is the best ive had so far but other labels make comparable sleepy teas. Sleepy tea is so helpful with my nighttime rest. If you dont like hot tea, you can mix brewed hot tea with lemonade and ice to make a refreshing iced tea.
Also I started sleeping on my back and controlling my sleep position. This has been a challenge but worthwhile because I sleep better. I always wake up stiff so I take a hot soak to relax the muscles.
I wanted to share some of the solutions I have found with fellow pain-bearers. I hope that you find your solution. We all know this condition is unrelenting at times and this forum is a fantastic resource! Take care and find peace in knowing that it will always subside...there will be rest for the weary.

Hi,
Thanks for the tea tips. I love hot tea and will try some of them you suggested.
I have used the tension tamer before and the sleepy tea.
I think I will go fix me a hot cup now.
Glad you are feeling better. Thanks for sharing.
