It hit our house like a tornado. Fine in the morning then the next thing you know you're sitting on the pot with the wastebasket in your hands and it's coming out both ends... VIOLENTLY! Started with my husband, he had to pull over his delivery truck on the express way and puke out the door! Two year old got it and tossed her cookies on me and her mom. When we got it we both lost about two days. I really don't mind the tummy stuff, but the pain in my spine, hips and shoulders, not to mention my wrists and ankles and knees... O My Sweet Lord! I got right into the darvocet, believe me, and took two so I would be able to sleep.

If you hear of ANYONE who has these symptoms STAY AWAY FROM THEM! When you go to the store use the sanitizing wipes they have for the carts. This is one nasty bug and you don't want it. I spent the day washing sweat soaked bedding from when my fever broke. Honestly, it was like something from the movies! Take care all of you and don't get the tummy virus.

So sorry, Jeannie. It sounds awful! Thanks for the warning, and I hope you are feeling much better soon.

The last time I had what you are describing (including the horrible body aches) was about 10 years ago, and I never, ever want to go through it again.

I hope your family gets better soon Jeannie. How long does this bug stick around???

 

I have now become germaphobic to go along with my other phobias but DH and I so don't want to get anything. My hands are so dry from using Germ X, even the moisturizing kind, but that beats getting sick.

 

Hope the body pains goes away soon.

This sounds like the "ICK" that blew through my classroom! I have 24 students on the roster, all but 2 children and myself got it. Even my assistant and some volunteers got sick. It wiped out entire families ... apparently the worst was 12-24 hours, but there was lingering yuck for a while after that. (Especially in the young ones).

NASTY stuff indeed. I took several direct hits ... apparently 4 year olds don't ANNOUNCE anything before they barf on their teacher ... they just DO IT. ICK ICK ICK. We ended up using the show&tell bucket for a barf container one morning! ICK some more!!!!!

We lysoled, bleached, opened windows, lysoled some more ... but it went through like a tornado!

SOOOO sorry Jeannie!!! Hope you're feeling much better soon.

We're all better here except the 2 yr old is still having bowel issues. Do Over, you are right... it's just so fast. Sick enough to want to die and then boom, it's gone. Yesterday I was kind of in a fog... which for a fibromite is like being totally lost in space!!! and today I'm putting the pieces back together. The secret to avoiding this thing is probably accomplished by washing your hands each chance you get because the virus is gonna be on every door handle, shopping cart, touch pad at the check out, restaurant counter... If you can wash your hands before you touch your mouth, nose or eyes you will beat this thing.

Dumb viruses! They are so itty bitty and they can bring us so low! Guess it's good for my humility or something...
