My doctor gave me flexaril to take when I travel and for flares.  It really helps.  I was wondering if anyone takes this on a regular basis or do you just use it for flares?  I get so much more done when I take it.

I think flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) is great. I only use it for flares or will take it right before
a long road trip, as a passenger. I will not drive after I take it because it does make me
drowsy. Flexeril does take the edge off the pain. I am glad that it continues to work for me.
I'm glad it has been helping you too!

I also have been taking Savella for fibro and it has been helpful.

Hi!

I took this medication many years ago for sciatic pain. It knocked me on my caboose but the doctor also had me take some something else with it...and if I didn't have such thick fibro fog I'd remember what it was...lol I hope it helps with your pain. Many folks with fibro take it.

My doctor prescribes Flexaril to me to take as needed. I was taking it on a regular basis at the beginning, and it helped. Now, I just take it as needed.

I also take it as needed and it seems to help alot. I don't get sleepy from it, sometimes I wish I did then I could take it at night as a sleep aid.

I'm one of the ones it didn't work for. It helped me to sleep (knocked me out) and did little for pain. The dry mouth, mind
numbness, slurred speech and hair loss just weren't worth using it. The True Calm by NOW brand works the same way
without the side effects. I did get a prescription for skelaxin which doesn't give dry mouth but I rarely use it as it's $45 a
bottle with my insurance....Wow!! shocked

I take Flexeril with trazodone every night at bedtime, otherwise I twitch all night. My doctor recently upped my prescription so I will have extras for flares and when I travel. I couldn't stand a long car ride without it. It doesn't make me sleepy when I take it without the trazodone. The only problem is it does blur my vision a bit.

I take Flexeril occasionally for flares and also once in a blue moon, when I can't sleep.  If I take one after nine o'clock I am draggy the next day. 

 

I had never thought about taking it before a road trip.  We have several planned this summer while I'm out of school on vacation.  Thanks for sharing the information.  I'm sure going to try it.
