Sheila,
Unfortunately, the problem of insomnia is way too common. I've had Fibro all my life, not dx till about 5 yrs ago.
As a child, I drove my mother crazy - I couldn't take a nap. Then at bedtime, I couldn't go to sleep. I would lay in my bed until about
4 AM or so, fall off and wake up less than an hr later, just before my alarm went off.
As an adult, I go to bed about 10 PM w/ a Tylenol PM, I get to sleep around 12 AM, wake about 2:30 - 3:30 AM. Between my thimble-sized bladder, the burning pain in my back and the burning down my leg - I'M UP. So begins my day.
You would think after all these yrs, I would be used to this, not so. I am so tired. I try to exercise early in the day, try to keep as busy as possible, eat right and drink plenty of water (early until about 6 PM). I can't/don't nap, but I do have to stop during the day and lay down on a heating pad to rest my back. Every one in my birth family and my family here (DH and children + 'puppy') love to nap, and they sleep so deeply. They can't understand how I can't sleep. Me neither!
I hope you can get some rest this eve.
God bless. Alice.
