venting - OMG my son's father found us on the net

shocked  I can't believe it. My son's father found me and my son on the Internet today.
At least it was only on Facebook. I don't really know what to think?

I showed my son his father's picture on Facebook and also his Grandmother's
picture. My son has 2 half sisters. I didn't tell my son that. There is only so
much a person can take and I will tell my son when I think the time is right.

I know some of you will be able to side with me on this. I'm a little fearful because this was the ex-husband that held -- ---- ----- my face. This ex-hubby wants to meet my son but my son will have nothing to do with him at this point in time.

Oh boy, I can understand your trepidation. Just keep praying and put it in God's hands. That's all you can do. Your son may change his mind down the road. But you know best, I'm sure.

How did he get on your facebook page? Don't you have to confirm for somebody to be on your page? Or was it on somebody elses post?

By the sound of it, I don't think you should have anything to do with him. And respect your son's wishes. How old is he? It sounds like this guy could be trouble.

I hope that you can avoid him.

You can find anyone you want on Fackbook. I've only had it for a couple of months. Oh and my son is 18 1/2 yo with Autisim.

Did he post directly to you? I still thought that you had to confirm them as a friend to have them on your page. Oh well, I am on facebook but don't go there much.

I am sorry that your son has autism. I think that you are doing the right thing by not letting him contact your son. It sounds like he is violent. When your son is old enough or mature enough to understand the situation then he can decide, but it is good to protect him at this point. You are doing the right thing.

I hope that the stress doesn't effect your fibromyalgia. Try to relax. Maybe don't go to facebook if he is going to be there.

You can post directly to people I think after you've made a profile page. So he did post directly to me. My son is 18 1/2 but the maturity thing has to catch up with him.

I am so stressed out that I was very sick last night with worry.

Hara - I would suggest changing your privacy settings on Facebook for your son and yourself to where only "friends" can see you. It's under 'account' in the upper right hand corner of your page.

You can change all of your privacy settings so they can't see anything about you.

If they have a facebook page, you can block them and to them, you won't even exist on facebook. Make sure you change your photo album privacy to "friends only" as well.

Also - Facebook recently linked tons of sites together - you can find people on facebook if you have them on skype, etc. Just make sure that each time you visit facebook you log out as that will help with the profile linking. Also, remove any information you might have on there regarding address and phone numbers.

I just read an email from him this morning and he thought I was going to be nice nice about things. He's still an ------------ etc. I've blocked him from MyYearbook as well and I'm going to take down MySpace page. But there are a few friends that are still on Facebook. I'll work on it.

Thanks.    And my son really doesn't want to see his father anyway.
