I think that I have done just about
all of the above. What really bugs me is when I know that I have just gotten something at the store, only to be unable to find it after getting home just a few hours later. I usually find it in some unlikely spot sometime later. What is even worse is finding out that I put it exactly where it should have been, but didn't remember!
I am constantly losing my keys. My husband's favorite story is about his driving our suv down a busy street in our town when a man pulls up beside him, and motions for him to roll his window down. The man then yelled, "Hey, do you know that there is a set of keys hanging out of the lock on your back door?" Of course, they were mine, left there after carrying in groceries the day before. I think that my worst incident occured back when I was still single. I couldn't find my keys one evening after returning from shopping and carrying in several items. I tore the house apart, checked my purse, the car ignition, and all of the other usual places. I was frantic, as there were keys to my home as well as my office and vehicles. I went to bed feeling very frusterated. The next day, I was mowing the lawn. I "found" my set of keys with the lawn mower. They flew into the side of my van at close range, leaving a small dent. I had laid them down on the lawn while I was carryiing groceries in, and they had been hidden by a large flowering plant. Surprisingly, most of the keys were not damaged. I was just thankful that they had only hit my vehicle, and not one of my neighbors or their vehicles!
