Done with taking it easy

Ok, for weeks I have listened to people tell me to take it easy, and I will agree with them the week after chemo I cant do much of anything. However, there are almost two weeks where I feel almost normal where I could be doing something and my family hasn't wanted me too. Sherrine I know that you are going to understand where this is going. Just because I have cancer doesnt mean the fibro is going to give me a break. With not doing anything I have been having a hard time just getting out of bed in the mornings because my lower back hurts so bad. So I made a decision this morning. No more being lazy all that is getting me is a dirty house and more pain. So I decided to start cleaning again on the weeks I feel better. So today I did dishes and washed all the outsides of my cupboards, fridge and stove along with inside and outside my microwave. I then mopped my kitchen, dining room, living room and hallways. Plus got some much needed dusting done. Does my back hurt, you bet it does but Im hoping if I continue to do some cleaning each day then after awhile it wont hurt as much and I will be able to feel good about myself again. I have decided that tomorrow I will try to clean both bathrooms, might only get one done but at least I will have accomplished something.

I dont want anyone to think that how it is for me is what they should be doing, I have known for some time that many of you have fibro worse than I do. I think mine is close to Sherrines, I could probably handle mine with Ibuprofen if I was allowed to take it but since the Gastric Bypass 7 years ago I am no longer allowed to have any kind of anti-inflamatories and that includes Ibuprofen. So for me it has been the fentanyl patches that help relieve my pain. I hope all of you are having a great day and thanks for taking the time to read this.

Yes, Shirley, you have got to keep moving but you don't have to become the Tasmanian Devil of Housekeepers!     (I can just picture you spinning around that kitchen...all over those cupboards!)  Goodness!  I can't believe you did all that after basically "taking it easy" for weeks!  How about slowing down just a bit.  It didn't get dirty in a day so pace yourself.  It will get all done and you won't hurt as badly, either.

Everyone's pain is different and it's different from day to day.  I have been in a flare for several months and the ibuprofen is barely taking the edge off it but I know if I keep moving, that helps me so much.  I know everyone is probably sick of hearing this but....you guys are stuck with me! 

I'm glad you are feeling well enough to do what you did.  Remember, Shirley, pace yourself.  A clean house (Rome) isn't built in a day!

(((((Shirley))))))  Your an inspiration to us all, and I understand what your talking about.   It feels sooo good when our house is clean, or even when were able to get 1 room clean! It's a feel good accomplishment.

 I'm learning to pace, as I have heard so many times here how important it is, it sure took me some trial & error, and I am still apt to go overboard sometimes, then I pay!

I do have to agree with the rest of the family here. Take er easy kay? We care about you, and don't want to see you winding up feeling worse, but I'm so glad you have been feeling better.
