Just wanted to let everyone know about our local grocery store and a service they provide. I know MOST of us really hate/can barely tolerate the trips to the grocery store. Well, our Harris Teeter stores offer a service where you can creat your shopping list online. Every item you could possible need is listed in a specific section online. You select your items (even has a section that is JUST "special" items so you can limit yourself to "on sale" only), they are added to a shopping list, items totaled online. You can say (for example) you want 2 pounds of chicken legs, 1 pound of carrots, 5 lbs of potatoes, etc. They get you as CLOSE to what you order, they PACK your order, and it's ready for pick up in just 4 hours. You drive up to the store front. Someone comes out and greets you at your car, loads your items, settles up the actual total (can only estimate online since there are some things weighed), and they ONLY CHARGE YOU $4.95 FOR THIS SERVICE!! WHAT?? WHY have I never know this before?? Oh, did I mention you can use coupons too?? The reason this seems so fantastic to me, if I am at home on the computer, I can concentrate on what I am doing, I can run to the kitchen and check "am I really out of XYZ?", I can definitely have an easier time with coupons, I don't get tired out from walking, I don't get overwhelmed by being surrounded by everything, advertisments, people, piles, isles, can't find this that??!! So I am thinking 100% in the long run, despite the $4.95 charge for the service, I would DEFINITELY spend less!!! AND, they WILL NOT except tips. It tells you to please not offer tips to the clerks. Anyway I am very excited to try it out. They even wave the $4.95 charge for your first time.
