Hi Jenny!
Sure glad you posted about this as I'm sure many others have similar issues but are too shy to post...about the sex drive, at least. Many of the medications we take totally destroy any sex drive and not only does that take away a pleasure in many of our lives but it's actually good for treating pain. Those endorphins are like magic!
I've tried a day of lyrica and one of cymbalta and won't make that mistake again. I was horribly sick and couldn't function at all. I have also been on antidepressants for several years which really helps my life, but sometimes they do have side effects or their effectiveness wanes.
I guess the bottom line to what I'm trying to say is...it's your body and you get the make the decisions. There have been several times over the years that I've been given a prescription and have delayed or chosen not to take it. Do tell your doctor next time you see her though. But if you feel you would be better served and are doing OK for now then make that appointment with the psychologist and see how it goes. I can't see where it would hurt anything and you can also talk to her about taking the paxil.
Hope you do well with your decision...
Chutz
