We were half way out the door to the hospital...the phone rings...my surgeon was just called into an emergency surgery which is expected to last 6 hours.

No biopsy for me today...it will be next week on the 24th...oooh I just wanted to get it done and over with! I'm leaving for Wisconsin March 5th for 2 wks. Hopefully they can take the stitches out before I go turn

I hate when that happens. Like my sleep study this past Friday. You get yourself all ready for (whatever it may be) and just want to get it over and then poof........postponed.

BTW my study was last night. My oxygen saturation went down to 70 a few times through the night. I have a bad feeling about a cpap thingy.

Aw drats. frustrating, for sure. Here's hoping on the 24th, the incision is as small as possible and there is nothing to find.

GDS, my hubby has a cpap and he loves it. So do I because he and I both get rest at night, now.

Crazy, are you still on the prenisone? I do hope your doctors are taking this seriously because GCA is nothing to mess around with. If you notice any problems with your vision get to the emergency room immediately. Also, get as much info as you can about GCA because I think that even a biopsy can miss it.

The above website is a forum that I use for polymyalgia rheumatica but alot of people on it also have GCA. You may be able to find some valuable info by looking back through the posts. Sorry I don't know how to make it so all you have to do is click on the site.

Jag, yes I'm on high dose prednisone 40 mg a day... I saw my optamalogist on Monday...had my eyes dialated, and right now everything looks OK...seeing him on 3-4 again he is concerned about the peripheral blue flashes I'm seeing...He is aware of the upcoming biopsy....he told me if it looks like a dark curtain is coming down in my eyes to call immediately and go to the ER
YUP...I THINK I WOULD DO THAT... really hope I don't have too:)
