I see a np and really like her, but she is only in the office about 2 days a week. Woke up sick and my vision was funny. every thing seemed dim. I had had trouble before with seeing the computer last week at work. I have just started Lyrica but since I had trouble before did not think that is the problem. Went to her office, but as a walk in it would be several hrs and she was not there. So I went to an urgent care center (cost the same a pcp) Had blood work, my wbc was elevated and I had an above norm temp. So I have a bacterial infection. As for my eyesight the perpherial vision on my left side is bad. I could not see the letters on eye chart even with my glasses! They think it may have something to do with my diabetes. I am so scared. I want my eyesight.

She wants me to be off work tomorrow, go back to my reg pcp for more blood work and to tell her I am going to change to the uc as my primary care. They are open weekends and till 8 pm on weekdays. The first day I can see the eye specialist is Thursday. I called work told them I would be off till friday. I had to call a company to get Family Leave Act. New policy at work if you miss 4 or more days.

I love my job but I wonder how much longer they will put up with me and my problems. I hate to ask but what else is going to happen to me.

I did ask the new NP if she believe fibro was real and she sd definetly.

I hope something can be done about your eyesight. That must be scary.

Do you want to change docs? The UC has a big advantage because of the hours but will you be able to make appointments and see the same doctor?

As far as I know, no appts but I may be wrong. Think I saw a sign about that. The np I see now has no xray machine. I have osetoporosis and have several past fractures and will prob get more as per ortho dr. I fall a lot so not having to go to hosp will be a plus. I can req the same dr. I used to go there before my current one, but they kept messing up my bills. The billing company they used was not in TN and did not figure out that with TNCare (our version of medicaid) I did not have to pay anything. I was sent to collections so much and called them, that they put a note on my acct: Do not send to collections. I actually saw it on the computer. I no longer have tncare so I do not have that prob. It is closer to my house. One dr i do not particuarly like but I can request who I want to. He is ok but does not go over things with you much and he is asian and has a thick accent. He intimadates me a little.

Hoping everything works out well for you, that they find out what is causing your vision problems and get it resolved. You are in my thoughts and prayers! Wishing uou the best :) and hope you find a doc who caring, understanding and very competent! yeah

Callcenterdiva, You are taking care of yourself in regards to the diabetes aren't you?  I would figure that you know it can affect your vision Right?  Please let us know what the outcome is.

Keep in mind that many of us with fibro have changing eyesight.  Mine goes wacko and I have to keep switching between my glasses.

That must be scary. Does the doctor have any idea what kind of bacterial infection?

I know you hate to miss work but it's probably best. In my experience, doctors don't tell you to do that lightly.

just want to say that I am sorry that you are sick. I also have vision issues and my sister keeps telling me that I need to see an opthamologist not an optomitrist. they can deal with your vision and sometimes thru your eyes diagnose things that the regular eye doc/pcp misses. I have yet to make an appt. because I just have too many other health issues right now. But, I will because what ever is going on with my eyes is getting worse quite quickly.
