This might just be a new company policy. Don't project yourself in the future. You could be stressing yourself, causing more pain because of it, and there might not be a problem at all. Today has enough worries of it's own.
This is out of your control, too. You just do the best you can. That's all anyone can ask of you. And, who knows? There could be even a better job out there for you, if you need or want it! There really are positives in all situations. You just have to look for them.
Have a great, COMFORTABLE, road trip. Be sure to stop every couple of hours and walk around for a few minutes. If you aren't driving, print out a copy of the gentle stretching exercises in Fibro 101 and take this with you and do them periodically. They really will help prevent some pain and stiffness. These were developed for long flights.
