First Dr, Appt

I went to my first dr. appt with a rheumatoid doctor. He gave me a cortisol shot in the tender point in my shoulder but all it has done is make my arm loopy and numb! The end result the doctor said I have Localized Fibro, does any one know exactly this means? He also thinks it could be my tendonitis flaring up and adding to the pain. Please let me know your thoughts!

I think it just means that u're Fibro is staying put in one spot or one area.
Cortisal can do that to you. I've had a shot once for a whole other back problem years ago and i felt right sick on that stuff! Felt weak for days and could'nt eat anything let alone keep it in. Doc has never given it to me again because i had such a bad reaction to it.
Hope that loopy feeling goes away quickly, must be really annoying!

It sounds like you are fortunate to have it localized. If we are right about what it means. But just incase, don't be surprised if it does move around. I hope I am not jinxing you. But mine was in my neck and shoulders and then later it was in my hips. But it stays mostly in my neck and shoulders. I have found what is called a bed buddy. It is a tube (if you don't already know this) filled 3/4 the way with rice or beans. Sometimes they are called a bean bag. But you heat it in the microwave and then wrap a towel around it and put it around your neck. It really helps with the fibro pain because it puts off a nice moist heat. You might want to get one and try it. I got mine at Walmarts in the pharmacy section.

I know how those shots go. I use to get them for a dermatitis that I had on my hands. My arm would ache for days. I hope that yours doesn't go on that long.
