Hi y'all

I know we have folks from all over and I ran across some very promising results for folks w/ fibro. It is a non-opiate non-addictive drug called flupirtine. It has been used for many years in Europe for post-op pain and other conditions. The study showed very good results not only for pain but fatigue also!!!!!!!

Of course, our inept FDA has not done anything on this drug. If anyone tries it, please let us know. Ask your physician. I particularly like the non-addictive part because I used to like my pain pills a little more than I should-LOL!!!

I did some poking around on this drug and found a lot of hopeful news. The FDA has been involved with this medication since at least 2008 when clinical trials got underway. From the two links and clips below it appears that flupirtine is well on it's way to approval. That doesn't mean tomorrow, of course, but it seems to be making good progress and the manufacturer is on board to get production moving once it's approved...assuming it will be. But from everything I read the hopes are good on this one. I'm in line if it goes thru!!!

STOCKHOLM--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Meda (STO:MEDAA) has acquired exclusive US, Canadian and Japanese rights for the use of flupirtine to treat fibromyalgia from Adeona Pharmaceuticals. As part of the agreement, Meda is taking over full responsibility for development and commercialization of the compound. Flupirtine is currently in phase II development for the patented indication fibromyalgia.
