Hi freddygirl!
Nice to meet you but I'm sorry that your daughter is suffering. It's so hard for a parent to cope with.
As far as the fibro and arthritis goes, that's a hard call for doctors and researchers to make since the exact cause of fibro isn't known yet. The latest research indicates it's linked to the central nervous system. Hopefully more studies will help pinpoint it more so some better types of treatment will be available and soon a cure. (I still dream Big!)
Unfortunately there are still doctors who don't even believe in fibro or believe it's only women, or that it's 'in your head'. Sound like the dark ages??? Well, it is for those people.
Here is a list from the NIH website on arthritis and rheumatic disorders:
"What Are Some Examples of Arthritis, Rheumatic Diseases, and Related Conditions?
* Osteoarthritis
* Rheumatoid arthritis
* Juvenile idiopathic arthritis
* Fibromyalgia
* Systemic lupus erythematosus (lupus)
* Scleroderma
* Spondyloarthropathies
* Infectious arthritis
* Gout
* Polymyalgia rheumatica
* Polymyositis
* Psoriatic arthritis
* Bursitis
* Tendinitis"
That said, I wonder if the list of one of coincidence instead of proven connection. Might be the best the researchers have to go on.
Just my thoughts..
Chutz
