Painful Swollen Lymph Nodes in Neck

I am new to  the forum.  Have had fm for about 11yrs now.  I was wondering if anyone else had swollen and painful lymp nodes in the neck with it.  This has happened twice in the last 2 months.  It isn't strep.  I am wondering if I have something else or if this is just a part of my fm.  I have learned the hard way not to rush to the doctor for every new ache and pain.

 

I'm not sure if it was related but I had a very bad swollen gland on just my left side when I had my first flare. That was last October and they checked me for everything and said it must be a virus until after 3 months my symptoms including the swollen gland was still there. The gland finally went down somewhere after 4 months. I was lucky to have a doctor that listnend to me and diagnosed me in January. He ruled out RA but I also have hypo thyroid but that wasn't causing my pain. Whenever I don't feel well even before the fibro my glands all over my body seem to swell. I will run a low grade fever too. They don't usually think I'm running fever since my normal temp is 97.
Welcome to the forum. I have found everyone to be very helpful and caring. Not sure if this helped answer your question but that has been my experience. I know what you mean about going to the doctor about every ache they get sick of hearing from us. My doctor has been so good to me. He found the combination of meds that help me and doesn't give me the third degree if I occasionaly need a refill a little early due to dealing with more pain. He even helped me reduce the dosage of the tramadol from 8 a day down to 3 by giving me somthing that I take before bedtime that helps me get that deep sleep you need to ease the pain and help you function. I feel so bad for those who struggle with ignorant doctors. I am even back to work but I took a job in the same field I was in but with less responsibilty and less hours and of course less pay but It is much better for my health. There are still those days where I'd rather just stay in bed but not as bad as before.

I hope you feel better soon! I drink hot tea with honey and use a heat sock ( sock filled with rice and heated in microwave for a minute) to ease my swollen glands. It works pretty good!
