You're all going to get sick of me. I belonged to the FibroHugs community for years until their server blew up a long while back. Since then I hadn't found another online fibro support group I liked...until now. I guess I've got a couple of years worth of comments in me. So here's my 2 cents on chiropractors. Love mine. But I will admit that I must have very gentle adjustments & cannot be touched below my ribcage. Even my OWN touch hurts me there. The waistband of pantyhose is unbearable. So when my hip is 'out' & in need of ajdusting I have burst into tears from the pain &/or anticipation of it. My chiro has used an activator of sorts for the last few years & is much more gentle. It delivers lots of tiny taps concentrated in one spot. It's like a tiny little jack hammer. It's connected to a computer screen & you can actually watch as the spasms are gently pounded out of your muscles. It's wonderful & it really works. It's not jarring at all. In fact, I was very much against it at first feeling ripped off. But even on the lowest setting, which I must have for my low back area, it puts things back into place & it seems to last longer than the manual adjustments did. First sign of migraine I go & viola...it's gone by the next morning. I will always need meds for pain managment. But I consider my regular (once monthly) chiro adjustments to be a vital part of my arsenal in my fight against fibromyalgia.
