I hate walking through spider webs. I run in to them a lot when walking my dog in the woods. Always worried about a spider in it. I am glad that there wasn't one Sherrine. I got my power back on. I went to town to get prescriptions, and when I came back they just put it back on. So I didn't have to sit here in the dark. lol...

It is a beautiful day. Not too hot. I plan to walk my dog here shortly. I hope that all of you are having a great day. Pain free, energetic, and no fog. lol...

Good news all around!  

I got new reading/computer glasses!  All my mri and mra's came back unremarkable! NO migraines since last week! PCP is reffering me to neuro whom she says is very very throurough (did I spell that right?)

it rained today!!!! and my favorite (also don't tell anyone) oldest grandson is here and just ask if he could spend the night again?  I asked him if he was bored, he's 13 and I explained that I was going to just lye low..and why in the world would you want to hang here and do nothing....

his response, "because I love you Nana!"

awwhhh, I am a very blessed Nana!

I love my grandkids, they have been on vacation with their other grandma, but should be home this weekend. Thanks for posting.

We helped out oldest son move back into our area on Monday, I love it we will see more of them and our wonderful granddaughter.
This means no long car trip to see them and the 3 boys[23 to 29] will be able to see more of each other

Tonight I used this cool iPhone app I have for fast meals to make dinner. I chose a 20 minute recipe and it only took me 28 minutes and was delicious!

I went on a 5 day camping trip, took my daughter her 2 girls and my 5 yr old grandson. We had such a wonderful time, it doesn't matter how many times I heard the whatcha eating under there I always answered underwear just to hear the childrens laughter.

I've gotten back in touch with my oldest and closest friend after we hadn't spoken for almost a year (my bf and her bf don't agree with our friendship; long story) and we are meeting up in august and both hope to rekinder our friendship :)

What a great idea for a thread!  WTG!

 My 'happy' contribution is (and will probably always be) about my 2 year old granddaughter.  Last night I taught her the letter "S".  For real.   She loves to follow along with her chubby little finger whenever I read with her.  So I helped her & stopped on an "S" word & pointed it out.  I figured upper & lower case looks the same plus it looks like a Snake & makes the 'SSS' sound.  Well, whaddya know?  I showed her twice & told her to find an 'S'.  She trailed her little finger along the lines & lo & behold, she stopped on an 'S'!  I was stunned but still believed it was a fluke.  But after she did it 3 more times I knew she was really identifying the letter 'S' & sounding it out.  Guess what?  My baby can read! lol yeah

All the posts on here are so delightful. We can find the small pleasures in life and be happy. Regardless of how we are feeling at the time. It just fills my heart everytime somebody posts. My day is just beginning, but it isn't suppose to be too hot today, though we do have a heatwave moving in. I was hoping for a little rain before hand, we will see. I have got to water the garden if it doesn't happen. But I get pleasure out of that too. Love working in my garden.

Morning!!!

Woke up at 5am when Hubby got up..wow it's hot, my hotflashes have taken on a life of their own...wait...the ac is blowing hot air..

choices, I could have whined, stayed in bed, tossed & turned..but I didn't.

I chose to get up, spend some time with the Lord, made a phone call to the ac folks, get ready for my youngest daughter and her beau coming home for the weekend..

Plant some seeds of love, kindness, encouragement this weekend..you'll be overwhelmed of what comes up in your garden!!!

Crazykitty - I decided the EXACT same thing over the weekend!! How fun!

I am thankful that it is summer and we have been having some great weather! This is a much needed bolster to my spirit!

A positive for me is that with the health challenges facing my daughter and I, it has given me more motivation to let go and live a little. I have been so guarded with my daughter and worried about her safety. Today I let go and let her go to the community pool with my sister. Her muscle weakness is progressing and I want her to be able to do things while she still can:)

Yesterday I was having a bad day because of intense head pressure so I almost called off hanging out with my boyfriend that night but instead he insisted on coming over with dinner and a movie- it was just what I needed to feel better!

Thought that I would bump this up for anybody interested. I am having a good day despite the heat. Hiding out from it. We are suppose to have a week stretch of this heatwave. I guess I do complain about the weather, too hot or too cold. lol... But it really effects me.

I was able to make some sandwiches for the guys working out in the shop. So I am proud of that. Made bacon, lettuce, tomato and cheese sandwiches. Now I will rest until the sun goes down some.

Mmm Karen, I could go for one of those sandwiches right now.

Hubby and I bought our house a year and a half ago and apparently the previous owner was an avid gardener. This has a down side and an upside:

Pro - she really knew her stuff. In my gardens, as something is dying off something else is popping up with colour. She knew her perennials and what bloomed when and planted a nice selection of fairly hearty flowers.

Con - working full time and being sick are NOT conducive to heavy duty gardening! Plus I don't *love* to garden. I like it, but not enough to warrant the number of flower beds around here. So when I get home at night or have a day off, dealing with the weeds and the bugs is not my first choice for fun. Also I tend to really hurt the next day.

Anyway, my nice story for today is that my mother in law came over to help me with the gardens. She is a strong, efficient woman and she can do triple the stuff I can do in the same amount of time. We got hot quickly though, so she took me in to town after and bought me a few perennials and annuals to fill in some of the emptier spots and throw a bit of colour where there isn't any, and also some daisies, which are my favourite! Then we stopped and I bought us gelato and we went to a bakery.. it was a nice little outing in the town I live but that I never get to enjoy.

My arms and shoulders are tightening up already and I still have stuff to do to prepare for having people over tomorrow, and I know I am going to be sore, but right now I am just so appreciative of having the best mother in law ever :)

That sounds so nice. I use to have a lot of flower beds, but when I got fibro, I let them go. A lot of grass in them. I bought a coneflower (echinacea) the other day. It is pink instead of purple and is called "Kim's knee high". I really love the color. I have to plant it yet, but for now I am enjoying it in the pot still. I have some purple coneflowers and some gloriosa daisies that I am planting it with. I tried to grow the shasta daisy, but for some reason didn't have much luck, but I have wild daisies that come up in my yard everyday. I have a row of yuccas that are about to bloom. This will be the first year that all of them have bloomed. I am so happy about that. I like them because they look tropical. We have a short growing season here and there are a lot of cool things that don't grow here. So the yuccas are cool to me. Plus they stay green throughout the winter in the snow. Gives you a glimps of summer through out the cold.

I am glad that your mil helped you with the flowers. I have let the grass grow in mine. But I still know where they are. If I were to dig some up and move them, it would look a lot better. Maybe that can be a fall project for me. I even have some as to where I set the pot on the ground and didn't plant it. The roots have grown out of the pot into the ground. I don't know what to really do about that. I need to dig them up and plant them right. I use to have a plant nursery. Now I can't even remember the names of the plants. But it is still nice to see some amount of color in the summer.

I bet that your gardens are beautiful. I just love flowers. I planted a few herbs this year. some I already had, but these are in the garden spot so I know my husband will take care of them. Mine are kind of growing all over the place.

A whole month without a flare up Swansonmjs, that is fantastic. Here is to another month!!!

Teresa, I am glad that you got to enjoy Harry Potter and didn't have any pain from it. That is fantastic too.

I made supper and got the dishes done. Still want to bag up the garbage for pickup tomorrow. It has been super hot here today. Almost 100 degrees. But I have been cool in the ac. Thankful for that.
