A new question, I think...do any of you have elevated CPK levels???

Is this the norm for fibromites?  My neurologist was not impressed that my rheumy totally dismissed my elevated CPK levels, which usually show muscle damage going on.  My rheumy didn't even mention the CPK levels to me.  At my 6 month visit with my neuro in June, while going over my blood work done by the rheumy, the CPK level was of great interest to him.  He had it checked again, which then was a bit lower than the April level with the rheumy.  So, he had me test it again, which this time came back significantly higher than the test in April.  So now in 3 weeks we are testing it again.  To be honest, my neuro is one of the doctors I have considerable faith in, he has never been wrong in anything he told me.  From this point on, he will be taking care of me, I am done with the rheumy.  The rheumy only wants me on meds, no suggestions for me other than 4 or 5 different meds at the same time.  When the meds made me very ill, he then suggested one more med for my tummy..I refused all meds.  My neuro understands my issues with the meds and always offers alternative ideas for me to try.

Thanks for the response.  I was thinking it was more of an osteoarthrits problem maybe.  My neuro told me muscle involvement and I wasn't positive that fibro wasn't a muscle issue too.

Thanks Robin, and yes, I love my neuro.  Not only is he one of the best, he has a great personality too.  He's the only doctor that doesn't give me white coat fever!
