Rib Pain

I think that it could be related to your fibro, as Sherrine once told me Fibro effects everyone of us in different ways. I hope that you do feel better soon. I know that for me rib pain has become a big issue but as I also have scoliosis it is hard to tell.  I cannot lay on my stomuch or my ribs kill me! Goodluck!

I was surprised yesterday to learn thanks to this site & forum that chest pain could be part of fibro. I saw my doctor about a pain I was having to the right of my breastbone that strangely would only be a sharp pain when I got my feelings hurt. The doc said that sometimes "when we have stress or imagine a problem and our body doesn't find a physical problem it MAKES one." (Great doctor, harumpf! Sounds like he was trying to say I was crazy or it was all in my head, right?!?)

If your pain is in the outer parts of ribs, I'm not sure. I'm certainly no expert and my former doc thinks I'm nuts lol!!!

If you have been coughing a lot, you could have bruised the areas/spaces between your ribs. I've had that happen before. Not saying that's what yours is, I'm just throwing it out there as another idea.

I get pains along the outer part of my ribcage, it is regularly quite painful to the touch if not with movement. My massage therapist said there's little muscles the sides that could flare up on a fibromite, like any other muscle. I also get chest pain in between my breasts but it is a very different feeling, more like a constant pressure pain while the other pain is more of a tenderness pain.

I get the exact same thing in the same place.....although in recent years I have also been occasionally blessed with it in the right rib cage.

I dont regularly see a doctor anymore for Fibro, but have read that it is likely
costochondritis. The good news is that it is one of the few fibro symptoms that ibruprofem actually helps with.
