Here I was thinking the flare I amin was making my back hurt a lot more then normal. I could not lie on it just moving my arms was almost impossible with the pain.

Did I think it was something else? No it never occured to me.

What was wrong?

I had a boil on my back it was huge, it has gone now almost healed up.

Did I think about it being there no I was stunned when I got my husband to look at it.

Listen to your body, I had been taking the pain for granted, hey it is just the same old pain.

Kathy, ouch! I hope you feel better fast. I know, we tend to just take everything in stride. I've had my doctor say (about what, I've forgotten) "how could you ignore that?" Well, it had to get in line behind everything else that was torturing me! :) That's how.

Any idea why you got this big boil?

no idea why I got the boil, it was huge and when my husband moved the skin it exploded and I mean exploded. The hot bath must of worked on it.

I can totally relate to what your saying.  A couple of months ago I was having low grade fevers, muscles aching more than usual, night sweats, plain just not feeling well.  All of these symptoms I was blaming on my PMR, fibro, steroid tapering and menopause.  That is until I started having burning when urinating about a week later.  I went to the doctor and sure enough I was really sick with a urinary tract infection.  Seems that when you have chronic pain issues you are always blaming symptoms on what you already know you have.

Guess we have to realize when we have new or different symptoms not to just make an excuse for them but to take them seriously.

I learned that the hard way myself. I started having some chess pain in the middle of my sterum. I would just brush it off, thinking it was heartburn. Then I was feeling short of breath, but thought that was anxiety. If you ever had real bad heartburn you know that can be both symptoms. Next day, I was just miserable, and my husband thought it was anxiety attack. Finally I got my daughter to take me to ER. It was a pulmonary blood clot. I could of died, if it decided to move on. Thank heaven I am here. Found out that I have a genetic blood clotting factor that causes this. I am on blood thinner the rest of my life. So yes, I know what you mean on this topic.
