I have a symptom that is almost like a fluttering/twitching inside my ear, kind of sounds like someone crumpling up some thin cardboard or something. It happens now and then and it's just one of those weird things my body does that I don't pay a lot of attention to-- but I just realized it as it happened again and it hit me that it's probably a muscle spasm in or near my ear...I mean why not, we have muscles everywhere and they twitch and spasm with Fibro.

Anyway, weird...just curious to know if anyone else has this.

Just me, huh? Maybe I just have wax in my ears! I swear, it's getting to the point that if a car ran over me, I'd just blame it on Fibro. lol!

Sounds to me like you are describing fluid in the ears. Do you hear it when you move your jaw or open your mouth wide? If so it is likely fluid.

Can't say I've had this symptom, but my husband had the crackling-type noise due to fluid in the ear canal.

Regardless of what's causing it, I'm sure it's annoying. :-(

tinnitus which i have sometimes too and it also can be related to small intestinal bacterial overgrowth

I have had a lot of high pitched ringing (tinnitis) in my ears too

Its probably some fluid in your eustachian tube. It happens to me if I get a little congested, or eat too much salt. If it bothers you alot, try drinking lots of fluid and taking some Mucinex. Also, I found that spraying a homemade saline solution in my nose several times a day helps alot too.

My ears are always bothering me.

But I have allergies and grew up with this but it's worse then ever now.

I also can't hear very well sometimes.

Still ringing...I think I will take the Mucinex now...when Cathy mentioned it before, I read it too late in the day to take it...But I've had enough and I'm going to take it now and will let you all know how and if it helped it.
