Well after struggling since last fall. I have had every test you can think of and Monday I went to my rheum appt. After a thorough exam and questioning he diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia. I wasn't happy but I was relieved someone could give me some answers as to what was going on with me. He took some blood work due to history in my family with RA and I have another appt in 4 weeks.

It was comforting to know there was someone out their who could answer my questions and didn't mind taking time to explain the situation. He gave me suggestions and some things to expect ...he restored my faith in physicians. Now that I have some answers maybe we can get a gameplan and go from there. I know this won't be easy- but at least I feel like I have some support with this rheum.

Hi yellwdaisy~

I'm very glad your found us but at the same time a bit sad that you have the need to. You do have a very special rheumy and it's obvious you feel grateful for that. So often people are still pushed through one appointment after another for years until they just give up and live with the pain and suffering.

Keep us posted on your next appointment. We are 'family' here and truly care about each other.

I'm so happy for you! Its the first step on a long road but at least now u have taken that first step so u can get on with your life. I'm also very glad to hear that you found a good and decent doctor that takes his time with you and i'm sure he/she will help you in making that game plan. All the best of luck!

Thank you all for the warm welcome. At first I wasn't so happy about the news, but after reflecting on it I decided this was good news. Don't get me wrong, none of us ask for this...but at the same time after having test after test it was nice that someone confirmed there is something wrong. It wasn't all in my head, and no I am not crazy. I have known for a while that things just weren't right. I know this is the beginning of a long road. But it's nice to know there are others out there and that I am not alone. Thanks for the support.

It seems like the only way they can diagnose Fibromyalgia is to rule out the other things it could be. I'm with you -- I am not happy with what I seem to have, but it could be worse.
