My fibro cause pain all over, but not as bad as my shoulders. It seems like it has "settled" in them.lol. It feels like the connective tissue, muscle, tendons and everything is involved. Anybody elses shoulders bother them alot? Right now my right one is killing me. Maybe it's time for the heating pad now.

Mine keep bothering me on both shoulders at the front part. It really tires me out.

Yeah and sometimes I feel like my arm just wants to pop out of joint or something. I wonder since our muscles are weak or stiffer than normal does it cause joint problems like that. hmmm.

I have always had trouble with my shoulders since the very beginning of fibromyalgia. Though mine is my left shoulder. It really aches a lot. Both of them are bad, but the left one moreso.

Do you have a bed buddy? They really help to get rid of the pain and relax your shoulders. If you don't have one, you can find them at Walmarts in the pharmacy.

I often find the weight of my own arms makes my shoulders hurt. :p Not to mention how frustrating it is to get dressed and undressed when my shoulders hurt too much to move. Ah the challenges we must face!

I'm another one who has a lot of my pain in my shoulder/neck area. As mentioned above, my shoulders have bothered me for a long time and also it feels like it's in the joint...like someone is poking a burning hot, giant needle into the joint. When it gets ramped up the pain is nearly unbearable....it just hurts to even breathe. I have to rest my arm to get relief and it often lasts a week or more. If I don't keep it rested it will keep screaming ugly things at me.

I too have 'issues' getting dress and undressed. A bra strap is a torture device! With major joints arthritis and other problems can substantially add to the pain. I feel it's darn hard to treat fibro pain when you have other pain in the background and vise-versa!

I've had a lot of problems with my shoulders over the years. I was told it was bursitis, then my physiotherapist disagreed. Now, one was pre fibro, one was after, so maybe what I thought was the same has changed. The causes leave me confused sometimes.

Anyway, my therapist said I need to stretch out the muscles in the front of my shoulder. I do notice if I don't do my exercises, I get very tight, which brings my shoulders forward, which causes pain in the rotator cuff and the blade and ends up limiting my range of motion.

One exercise is hold your arm up at 90 degrees against a doorway and push forward. I can't usually do this one, although very effective. It bothers me to have my arm up liek that, I get exhausted.

Less aggressive therapy but just as effective over a longer period, lay on your back with your knees bent, feet flat on the floor. Bend your arm at 90 degrees on the floor next to you, and twist your knees in teh opposite direction. This will also open up the front shoulder muscles and into your chest.

That is one of my chief complaints. My right shoulder will KILL me! It feels like someone is taking a dagger and digging into my shoulder blade. It got bad enough that my doc put me thru physical therapy but mentioned that if it didn't help that she would do injections. Luckily the p/t worked. I have a lot of neck issues too.

Once, my right shoulder was it's usual mess but I threw out my left rotator cuff at the same time. You want to talk about having a tough time getting dressed! lol

Me too... really helps to boost up my pillows for side sleeping. Worse in the mornings and when overusing my right arm.
