I was wondering if anyone here takes ativan(lorazepam) and tramadol?
I have been prescribed these two things, but everything I read online says not to take them together. I have been taking the ativan and not the tramadol.
Iam in a lot of pain though, and tylenol just isnt cutting it...never has.I have some drs say I can others say no.

Thanks for any advice you may have.

I don't, but some of meds are not recommended to be taken together.  If you can not reach your doctor to ask him/her call the pharmacy they are very good at telling you if it is ok.  For me it is ok in the doses I have been given and the fact that I'm not over 60.  Everyone is different based on their own health history.  But if you question anything I sure would ask better safe than sorry.  Even doctors don't know exactly how your boddy will react to medications until you take them.  I took Lyrica and due to the bad side affects my doctor took me off of them after 3 days and perscriped me something else that worked great.

Why don't you call your pharmacist and ask them.  They know what you are taking and what medications interact with other medications.  That's their specialty.  I always ask my pharmacist before taking something new or if I have any medication questions at all.

I take a small dose of tramadol nightly. I am also prescribed ativan as needed up to three times a day. That said, I can't remember when I took my last ativan, but they were both prescribed by my doctor and my pharmacist is aware as well.

Tramadol has been a real lifesaver for me. And my doctor isn't worried about my taking it, so that's reassuring, too.
