Bladder issues

Does fibro cause a weak bladder that would leak? lol, I mean Im 38 and I don't have any other problems that I know of, but I have problems with a leaky bladder. I wouldn't think at 38 it would be like this. If I sneeze or cough or laugh hard it happens too. Maybe it's just a part of getting older and just weak muscles.

Have you had children? Sometimes just by having children, it can weaken the muscles down there. If you do the Keagal (sp?) exercises, it can help strengthen things back up. I don't have a weak bladder but if I cough or sneeze, sometimes a little will come out. I actually seen a urologist because I was having a hard time using the restroom. It would take forever for me to go. I had a cystoscopy after an examination because I had microhematuria (no know cause was found).

But weakened bladder muscles can happen to any woman. My best friend had the bladder suspension at 37 (non fibromite). I also have another friend who might have that done because she would literally pee her pants from laughing when she was only 26 (a fibromite).

Yeah have kids, but it's been 18 years ago..lol. I think maybe it's just aging and kids and weak bladder...its annoying sometimes though.

I have interstitial cystitis. My bladder is in terrible shape! Hard to say if it's related to Fibro or not but I have heard about it on other Fibro boards as well

@Christie, the list that you made after your remark, is that all of the things you've been diagnosed with? We have very similar problems and I'm wondering which part of all of these is the culprit and how we can all put our minds together to try and figure how the cure. I have to urinate some nights every five - ten minutes and I'm going out of my mind. I have endometriosis. I have severe, severe migraine headaches twice a month that last five days each time. I have psoriatic arthiritis and ploymyalgia rheumatica, MVP and I've had enough. How can we do some research to find out what is going on?

Leaking when sneezing, laughing or exercise is stress incontinence. My doctor told me that bladder suspension won't help with that. There is Kiegels of course, but you have to really stay on top of them and do huge amounts of reps. I have had 4 children and my pelvic floor is very weak. What has helped me is a device called Uresta. My pharmacy had to special order it for me. It is quite expensive, but I have confidence to do what i want now. I am able to jump on the trampoline with my girls, which I never could before. I can exercise all out, and I also use it when I have a cold or allergies to avoid embarrassing accidents.
