I have iron deficiency and at one time my numbers were as low as 6.3 (11.5 being low normal). I felt as though I was constantly walking thru water. Every thing took effort. Even thinking about getting up and walking across the room took effort. I was woozy headed, wobbly, extremely tired, weak, cold and had balance issues. And, I ate ice like it was manna from heaven.
Now my level stays around a 10 so I still battle the fatigue and weakness on occasion. My doc told me to add vitamin C to help with the absorption.
Also, I have the opposite affect from the iron, I run to the bathroom, and sometimes in a great hurry.
(I also suffered from sore throats and ear aches and so far no one can tell me why. Since my iron, vitamin D, B-12 and thyroid levels are all good now the sore throats don't bother me quite so much. Because they all over-lapped in appearance and treatment, I cannot say which one may have been the true culprit.)
Hope the iron brings you some much needed energy and takes care of some of those other nasty symptoms. It may take awhile for you to see the results so don't give up.
Take care,
