I have found that I am having some success with various vitamin supplements. Has anyone had a Doctor prescribe them for you? I have not tried yet but I want to see if I can get that and some of the massages prescribed so I can use my flex-spending.

I don't take any prescript
ion medication for my Fibro. about
10 years ago when I was 1st diagnosed all these doctors wanted to just give me meds. I eventually ended up on Oxycontin. That's the worst drug ever to take for this condition. So I decided I wanted to learn how to manage my Fibro other ways. I only use vitamins. Magnesium is a big help to my overall muscle pain and fatigue. I have read that Coenzyme Q-10 and D-Ribose could help. I might give them a try. Also exercising daily is the best. I also see a woman who does acupuncture weekly. You may want to see if your insurance has benefits. It really has helped me so much. What do you use the Apple Cider Vinegar for?

The only meds I take are aleve and advil. My rhematologist told me I'm medication sensitive which she said most people with fibro are. I believe why take a med if it causes side effects and doesn't do much dor me.
I also do my stretches and like Twix exercise. I go for short walks.
I take a lot of supplements. If you find a good health food store with a very knowledgeable owner they could set you up with what you might work for you. I recently learned GNC will work with you to get you on the supps so you won't have to spend money on supps that don't work for you. They can be expensive. When I found something that worked for me from a health food store I looked for it online to see if I could get it for a lesser price. I use the website Imedmart.
Good luck to you.

medfree, my rheumatologist recently expressed concern about
how I have been so sensitive to every medication I have tried for my pain. The Lyrica I fought so hard to get just wound up making me miserable. Still not sure what our next move is.
As far as success with supplements, I dont know that I have had much of it; I feel the same as before. I am going to inquire next visit to the doctor what I might be able to add or change. Id really like to get B12 shots, as I hear they work better than pills.

Hi Jaden,
I'm glad you're aware you've been sensative to meds. I had a neighbor who was on 21 medications. It seemed as if she was taking meds to counteract the side effects of other meds. I expressed my concern and she replied that her husband had good health insurance. It covered them all.
Jaden, it can depend on the supplements you're taking whether you experience success. I take good quality liquid supplements that are suppose to absorb well. I heard one of the namebrand inexpensive supplements doesn't break down well.
I'd be interested to hear if you have a B12 shot and how it works for you.

I take sublingual dots right now for my B12, but Ive been doing this since May last year and I havent noticed a difference. Im going to go do some searching and see if changing my supplements over to liquids might help. Ill let you know if I get a shot, and if it works next month.
