Lab results back and NIGHTMARE chiro visit!

So my neuro checked my blood for all sorts of autoimmune stuff including ANA and all that. Everything came up negative but my vit. D was low and vit. B12 could be higher so I'm upping my supplements for those. Plus my thyroid antibodies were quite high as well but I've known about my Hashi's for a few years although I did recently switch to Armour and last my antibodies were checked they were almost nonexistent. Anyone have Hashi's and know why the antibodies would fluctuate? And could that be causing my body aches? My TSH is perfect right now.

Onto the chiro. Horrible, horrible experience and I am never going to a chiro again! So it's the preliminary appt to just assess my back and neck health. This doc is taking my measurements and looking at my back when he reaches up and takes my hair out of the pony tail! First off, how does taking my hair down help you view my shoulders when he fanned it out to cover my frickin shoulders?? Second, it's highly inappropriate Nd made me super uncomfortable.

Next awful moment, he had me lay on my stomach to test neck strength. I turn to the left, tested, turn to the right, and his crotch was literally inches from my face...waay too close. I pulled back and he was like, yep, you're weaker on this side....no duh! I wanted away!

So I'm super foggy and slow to process stuff so I just keep thinking, well maybe I'm just being touchy or something. So then we head back to xrays and before we get into the room, he actually grabs the front of my sweater and lifts it up and leans back to look under!! His excuse was to check for metal buttons but I was getting a HEAD xray and I clearly had on yoga pants!

I head out after and just go through the motions of scheduling another appt with him but when I got home I called and cancelled. The receptionist tried to get me to schedule it later but I just told her it was a scheduling issue and I'd call to schedule it when I could (never!). 15 minutes later I get a call from a withheld number and I answer it, it's the chiro himself! He proceeds to yell at me over the phone for canceling, stating that how could I possibly have a scheduling issue when his office is open all day and that he's never had one of my neuro's patients cancel like this and he tried to bully me over the phone! I told him to just mark my file inactive after he was highly rude and he turned sweet as milk after that and hung up. UGH! He was so gross and I am just disappointed in the whole experience. Disappointed in myself for not saying something while I was there, disappointed in my neuro for referring me to him...the whole thing was just awful and I left feeling so violated.

What a JERK......I would report him for sure.....he sounds like a creep!

I would also report him... don't wait. call tomorrow....

If it looks like a duck & quacks like a duck, it probably IS a duck. Report him.

Always trust your inner alarm system. That was creepy behaviour and should not have happened. Report him and keep track of any calls you get from his office in the future. I would write it all down so if you are in a fibro fog when someone asks you about it in the future, you can pull up the details and be clear in the creepy behaviour. I am so sorry this happened to you!!

He should have had an attendant in the room with you if you were in a state of undress for both of your protection.

And be sure to tell your neuro so he doesn't send any other unsuspecting people to the chiro!

That is horrible. And, yes, he should be reported. That kind of behaviour leads to more, and someone else may suffer worse in his hands. And, I agree that you should report him to the referring doctor as well.

Just this past year a pediatrician in our area was arrested for assaulting 72 of his female patients between the ages of 9 months and 7 years. It was the worse Dr/patient case I have ever heard of. I cannot even imagine the horror those parents have had to face. And, we all have to wonder why and how this went on so long and no one ever came forward with a concern or complaint.

Its really scary to know that people that we should trust with our care can also be the same ones that are abusing that trust, and us.
