Do others have suffer from lack of motivation?

I have always enjoyed gardening, fruits, vegetables and

flowers. Now I would like to have a greenhouse in order to

start plants earlier and just to putter around in.

I have the thought in my head how I want it built, but I just

don't have the energy to call the builder. I know they will have

all kinds of questions and the thought of all that just makes

me tired?

Do any of you out there experience this also?

Sharon, I understand the feeling.

Personally my lack of motivation is due to a slump I'm in. Usually, I'm very enthusuastic about getting things done and right now...I don't seem to care.

I love gardening too, and did mangage to get out to get some things done.
Lately though, I'm dragging and that has to be part of it...no energy, no motivation. Most of the time when I'm flaring, I still manage to keep some motivation...not caring...is something new for me and I don't like it.

Maybe by anticipating some of the builders questions...you can prepare a list of answers before you call...that way you will feel somewhat prepared.
Your builder will do a preplanning visit with you....so all your decisions won't have to made right away. If you give hime a call...it will be one less thing to deal with....and then you can dream of all the wonderful things you are going to grow.

I deal with motivation all the time. Not so much wanting to do things, but knowing that I just won't have the strength and energy in realty to do them. When I am in a flare, my overall motivation is low, but generally I seem to just muddle along. I get pretty hard on myself, but my dear hubby always encourages me.

Sharon, do it for me because I would love to know I had the money to call a builder. Feel very blessed. I see a lot of empty ones in Alaska. I think people had good intentions when they put them up. I have to encourage myself to get motivated. I do so much better if I have my day planned out. I feel like I accomplished something. My therapist says it!s important to have a schedule. You might want to try a schedule. I use to have a play day in the week also. I kind of got out of my schedule. Maybe this will motivate me.

Just got back from a short walk...it put me in the frame of mind to do a little something now. I exercise even when I'm flaring...just not as long...a walk seemed to do my body good.

I guess what I needed is to push myself out the door today and stop feeling sorry for myself...can't give up...feel more encouraged since my last post :)

Thank you all for your replies, they are what I needed to hear.

I remember telling my children if the problem seems overwhelming break it down and that is what I've
decided to do. First I'm going to call the builder and ask him to send me a list of what he needs to know and
I'll tackle one issue at a time one day at a time.

Robin--Followed your example and went for a walk, just got back and feel better about accomplishing
something today.

I find that he hardest thing for me is to get started--once I get going, I'm fine, so the trick is to get myself started.  Like you said, break the task down into smaller pieces (the ol' "how do you eat an elephant?  One bite at a time!" approach!) and then just do the first small step.  If I can get myself there, I can generally keep the ball rolling. 

Good luck to you--your goal is a worthy one:  a healthy hobby that results in healthy food for the body and flowers for the soul!  :-)

Too many decisions overwhelm me. It happens to everyone, but it seems to happen to me earlier in the process. My husband is a contractor and I can NEVER say "I'd like hardwood floors." No, there are a million decisions from there. Even something as simple as "Can you hang this paper towel holder right there?" Still involves a dozen more decisions. Plus, since he is used to asking the questions and having someone else give him the answers he'll NEVER make a decision on his own. Sigh.
