Lexus, the very first thing I would suggest is that you get out of bed and start to live your life. You are giving in to this illness and that will just make things worse for you. If you sit or lay too much, you will be stiff as a board and have more pain. More pain causes more fatigue and that adds to sadness. So do start to move around. Kick this stupid illness to the curb. You are far stronger than you are giving yourself credit. We can do just about anything if we put our minds to it. We are also very adaptable and can figure out ways to work around fibro too. We can help you with that also.
There are some gentle stretching exercises on Fibro 101 that are really good. Also, you need to have a daily exercise that you can do. Walking is wonderful and doesn't cost any money. By the time I get home from a walk, I have less pain and more energy! If you are shakey, buy a cane. You can get them for about $20 at a drug store. I will carry my cane with me but not use it unless I need to.
I've been dealing with a ton of stress from the loss of my dog. When she died I fell apart and it took a hit on my lower spine. Yes, stress did that. I went from walking to barely being able to stand. Yes, stress did that...my rheumy acknowledged it. I do have some arthritis in my lower spine but the MRI'S showed I had far more inflammation and swelling, that was pressing on nerves and causing the pain when trying to walk, than I should have for the mild arthritis that I have. Yes, stress can cause this. So, try to focus on other things than you health. If we all did a body check and thought about what hurt and where, we would be basket cases. Find something to take your mind off fibro. For me, genealogy does that trick. I am accomplishing something and I don't think about how I feel.
Bottom line, start moving, start a daily exercise program for yourself, focus on other things AND look around and start counting the blessings all around you. That really helps me a lot. When I feel a "nosedive" coming on, I usually will head outside for a walk (which always picks me up) or I start thinking of all the good things in my life. If you made a list of the positive things and the negative things, the positive things would far outweight the negative. You might already do this but, if so, keep it up! It really does help.
These are the things I have done and have had a full and enjoyable life in spite of fibro and I know you can too! We are here to help you. So put a smile on your face and have a wonderful evening!
