hey ya'll i was jus diagnosed with this along with everything else yesterday. do u know if it will help me get my disability? well at least i know a little bit of why my back and neck hurt so bad all the time. does anyone else have this diagnosis?...they also added zanaflex to my meds yesterday also. been denied on first filing andd have filed a recon. most days i dont even feel like doing the dishes . carryin laundry seems like torture, most of yall dont tell ages but im only 39. i feel 50 or older most days.

fibro, neuropathy w/ o diabetes, severe insomnia, depression, bipolar disorder, degenerative disc disease,osteo arthritis in my knees.

soma, zanax, trazadone, zoloft, zanaflex, mobic, topamax, savella, menest,

just living life day by day!

Hi, and welcome if I haven't already met you (poor memory here!)

I also have that little gem, DDD. A lot of us here do, unfortunately. I just had spinal surgery 6 weeks ago for a ruptured disc. The surgeon told me yesterday that my back will always give me problems, but that hopefully I will be able to someday lift a half gallon of milk without causing lots of pain, as has been the case for - oh - 15 or 20 years! (Oh, how our dreams get smaller and smaller.....)

I am 57, and boy, do I know what you mean about feeling older. Methinks it comes with the territory of fibro. Have you read the thread "Fibro 101"? It has so much information in it that could help you, as far as getting Disability, and just generally understanding this condition. Good luck to you.

I have degenerative and herniated disks. What has helped me is a good chiropractor who very much understands fibromyalgia. A good massage therapist is beneficial too.

I also have been diagnosed with DDD, I don't know if that will help with disability I do know that I often say I feel like I'm 80 instead of 53. I have been turned down and am still fighting to get disability.

Tired, How long have you had depression.? I have the degenerative disc disease myself. As I get older I can tell a big difference with the pain.

It took me 2 1/2 years Get an attorney and go to the dr.. keep track of everything.. Takes time.. even when you win your case it still takes another 60 days to get any money and even longer to get your back pay.... Just have to hang in there.. Thank God I had a great husband to help me along the way,:)

I have DDD also, and I am 39. My disk is actually ruptured from it. I have had 2 surgeons tell me once the pain gets to be to bad then I have to have a bone fusion. I also have DDD in my neck with a small rupture and mild stenosis. I too feel older sometimes than I really am. My back has been messed up since I was in my 20s.

DDD and Facet too. Mine is from an untreated car accident years ago. Messed me up for years. I haven't had any surgery but have done physical therapy to strengthen my core to help my back stabilize. I also have mild scoliosis.
I put it on my disability application but have not heard anything back from the gov't yet.
