I am very limited by what I can and cannot eat. I have IBS, had it for so many yrs and I didn't realize it. I was on Questran for almost 20 yrs, otherwise I couldn't leave my house. I can't have dairy, nuts, popcorn, seeds, beans (diverticulosis), yet I love lentil soup, but it doesn't love me.
I can't tolerate beef, I get so sick. I mostly eat chicken, but that is so boring. I like rye bread, not white, and I eat it sparingly. I rarely eat macaroni, as my DH doesn't care for it. No point in making something we can't both eat.
Milk and other dairy can also cause my eczema to flare, in addition to the IBS stuff. I drink soy milk or use it on cereal - on the rare times I have that.
Mostly, I make an egg white omelette w/ green peppers and a sprinkle of cheese on top for breakfast. I like to eat a fresh whole pepper as a snack or a side for dinner.
I drink a lot of water, I like unsweetened tea hot/cold and it has to be decaf or I will be bouncing for days. I rarely drink coffee, if I do, it is iced decaf.
My diet is not really geared to the Fibro, but all my stomach issues. Sometimes for lunch, I will take a thin slice of ham or chicken and wrap it in a thin slice of swiss cheese, like a wrap. That is my 'sandwich', lol
I wish I could eat some of the things ppl suggest, but my system will not tolerate them. It basically comes down to eating healthy w/ what your body can tolerate. Again, we are all different and what works for one, may not work for another.
Hope everyone is having a good day!
God bless. Alice.
