Hello, Northern, glad you joined the family, so sorry for the reason.
Well, you have your dx and that is a good thing. What kind of specialist did you see? Is this a dr who will continue to monitor your health? Re the family dr, I would go in and share what the specialist told you & the tests used to determine your dx. I find it easy to write up a paper for each dr visit. I list my meds, dx's, drs, allergies, etc and for each visit I list my questions or concerns. I wouldn't go in w/ an attitude, but I would wait to see how this pcp handles the new info. Does she believe you, does she plan to follow the findings of the specialist - or is she dismissive?
That would guide my next move. You need to see if she is one board w/ the dx. It might be best to find another pcp to handle your health issues. I would give her a chance to see if she is ready to step up to the plate.
I know how hard it is when your dr doesn't seem to really know what is going on w/ you. I wish you good luck.
God bless. Alice.
