Good evening, Kittietta,
Welcome to the Family! I'm glad you found us, hopefully when you are here for a bit you will feel a little better. Most ppl come here very confused or scared and overwhelmed. The thing is others here have gone thru the same things you are going thru. Sometimes, just realizing others deal w/ these same things, takes some of the fear away.
If you haven't checked out 'Fibro 101', 2nd post top of the first page, I will suggest you go over the info. There is so much good info there. Many of the ideas are used by our friends here. It has helped them get their lives back.
I know you are nervous about taking a walk for fear of not being able to make it back home. Pls don't give up taking walks, just adjust your view of a walk. Start w/ a small walk, maybe two houses down from your door and then turn to go home. 'Baby steps' is the best way to start. I used to be able to do a 5 mile walk, up & down hills. Now I'm on a cane and my distance is greatly reduced, but I keep moving.
Showers and shampoos are exhausting, I can't stand for too long in the shower, so I got a shower chair. It helps. After I get out of the shower, I dry my face and my hair, wrap the towel around me and sit down for a cpl of minutes to catch my breath. I wait about an hr to dry my hair. I have to break it down into smaller 'jobs', pace myself.
The 'fog' can be a real pain, but you are not losing your mind - it just seems like it. lol My mind jumps from one thing to another, I have to stop and try to remember what thought led to another and another til I got to this most recent thought. Oh boy! I have never slept well, even as a child. I've had Fibro all my life. I take Advil PM at night.
You will be fine, you are among friends.
God bless. Alice.
