Hi, Dixie, and welcome! Your symptoms sound very much like fibro to me but I'm not a doctor. You might want to see a rheumatologist who works with fibro patients because they are good at diagnosing this. Be sure to ask first before making your appointment because there are still doctors out there in the Dark Ages when it comes to fibro.
Be sure to read Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there. Good starting links are called Symptoms, What Else Could It Be, and A Thorough Explanation of Fibromyalgia. You just might see yourself there.
There are pain charts and a journal you can print out in Fibro 101. If I were you, I'd do this. Whenever you do something, write it in the journal and record the level of pain you are having. This will help the doctor really understand better what is happening to you.
You still could have Trigeminal Neuralgia along with fibromyalgia. Many of us have several other illnesses along with fibro. Also, some feel their fibro kicked in after an accident or traumatic event so this fits the picture.
I use ibuprofen with food, extra strength Tylenol, malic acid/magnesium and vitamin D3 supplements, and an alternative pain product called Curamin to help with pain and fatigue of fibro. There are links in Fibro 101 about the supplements and how they work in the body. I do take one prescription medication...a muscle relaxer....called Robaxin and that has helped me a lot, too. I also walk daily, do gentle stretching exercises, and I pace myself when doing things. All of this has helped me be in control of the pain.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
