OT - My husband

Hi fibro friends! This morning, my husband had a heart attack. 45 years old. He is currently in the hospital, don't know much but he is stable and will be having testing done this afternoon. Please pray (or use whatever kind of juju you prefer) I can NOT do this alone.

I will pray it was a minor one (I read that Alex Trebek from Jeopardy) had his second one last month and he was only monitored for a few days and then released...

Thankfully that there are so many ways to help people with heart issues these days and I will say that because he is stable and is here now, that is the biggest praise!

And even if they have to do a stent procedure or put him on medications to reduce the plaque build up....this is easy to do.

As mentioned...we will be praying for him but take care of yourself....don't worry about posting on here....be there for your hubby and fill us in later when he is out of the hospital...

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this!  I'm glad he is in the hospital being monitored.  I'm sure may tests will be given and he will be taken care of properly.  You are forutunate that this was caught in time. 

 

I'm sending many prayers for his complete recovery your way and YES you can handle this!  It's amazing what we can do when under stress like this!  We are all here for you to lean on, also.  Keep us in the loop, okay?  We really do care about you.

I'm so sorry to hear this has happened to your DH and the stress it is causing you & your family.

We went thru this a cpl of yrs ago. My DH had a heart attack and they didn't even know it! He went to the hospital by ambulance, as his heart rate was 32. I knew he had a heart attack, but they couldn't find 'it'. 2 months later he had a stress test done at our great cardio's office, he didn't fare well and they sent him to a wonderful heart hospital for further testing. He had three areas that were in bad shape, 1 in very bad shape. They set him up to have stents put in.

We had a special dr do the stents, he did a great job. I can't remember the title they give to the drs that perform this procedure, sorry - brain isn't working on all cylinders today.

They finally dx my DH w/ having a heart attack. As much as I like being 'right', that was one time I would have liked to be wrong!

My DH has since retired - due to many health conditions- but he did go back to work after the HA, the stents and several other 'things' came up.

I know you are scared, I've been there. Pls try to relax as much as you can. You will have things to discuss and plan w/ the drs. Diet, exercise, possible procedures, etc.

It feels like you can't do this, I've been there, too. You will be able to do it. Why?  Bc you love your DH and he will need your help.  

You also have all of us here and we will be praying for your DH and you. Keep praying and we will, too. We are w/ you. And you are not alone.

Prayers on the way!!!  I'm sorry to hear about your hubby's heart attack...it is good to hear he is in stable condition and getting testing.

This is wonderful news!  I'm glad things are settling down and I'm also glad that you and your husband now know there is a problem.  It can be taken care of easily, too.  This has to be such a relief to you.

It's truly amazing the changes in medical procedures. They used to keep you in hospital for monitoring for days after a heart attack or stroke and he is out wow. I hope everything turns out alright.
