I was realeased from the hospital last night

Hi my friends....I can not thank you enough for your prayers and well wishes....God heard your prayers....my cancer was an agressive invasive adenocarcinoma but was totally removed by removing the entire lower lobe of my right lung by doing a thoracotomy. I was lucky that there was not cancer in my lymph nodes.

The pain is excruciating but I have my life.   The surgery was done 75 miles away from where I live and was I released from the hospital at 5:00 PM last night. My daughter flew in on Wednesday...hubby has been there to get me through. Friends and neighbors had visited also. I'm so blessed for the wonderful support.

Some things happen for a reason...I believe having fibro and my other junk saved my life....rheumy referred me to my pulmonologist a long time ago...he referrerred me to the oncologists...cancer was discovered early. The pain and nausea are a small price to pay for the chance to live. I know I will get through this...one day at a time.

All I can say is Thank You God, Thank You God, Thank You God! I do believe He answered our prayers.

I'm glad you had your DH and DD there for you. And your wonderful friends and neighbors! They all love you, too!

I am a big believer in 'things happen for a reason'. We don't always know what the reason is, until we start to connect the dots.

I hope that your pain decreases each day, and soon you will be feeling soooo much better.

Thank you for thinking of us to let us know how you are. You have so much going on and yet you wanted to let us know how you are doing. Bless your heart!

Robin I am so relieved to see you posting, thank you for letting us know you are ok. Now rest, and heal and when you feel up to it pop in to let us know again. You are missed but we know you need healing time.

The first day home was emotionally charged...I break down in tears of joy...sitting at the table with my hubby and daughter and realizing I'm so very lucky...I'm going through an emotional meltdown mixed with physical pain.

In the hospital I was on morphine and a novacaine drip...now am on percocet. I'm flaring and doing what I can to try to rest....the pain will get better, day by day...but it is rough going. I am so incredibly weak.

Doing the breathing exercise is so painful but I know it is needed.

Each day I hope to be stronger.

God is so very good to us!!! I'm singing his praise right now as soon as I read your post. I'm so very, very glad to hear that all the cancer has been removed from your lung. I just want to lean into my computer and come right thru to you and give you a big ol hug!!!! I can't give enough praise, I'm just in awe to hear your testimony.

I just typed a post that I'm rather ashamed now in hind site (sp) of reading your post. I know that you are in a great amount of pain right now, and I'm getting ready to send my prayers up right now for your speedy recovery.

Robin, I'm just really caught for words here, because I can't even say anything else except the Lord in Savior we serve, is so amazing.

Ten days ago, I was wondering what news I'd be awakening to after surgery...I told myself beforehand no matter what, I'd have the love and support to get me through. You have provided me both.

Love and support are true measures of the human spirit. I hope to regain my strength so that I can actively participate again to show my love and support to you.

Tuesday, I will be seeing the specialists again...the prognosis is very good, and I don't believe I will have to do radiation or chemo. My incisions are on my back and side, and rib spreaders were used. Sleeping is difficult, but am trying to catch up during the day. The incredible weakness floors me, and it hurts to laugh but I'm not ready to give that up.

My daughter flew back to Wisconsin today... oh how I will miss her but hubby and the neighbors are taking great care of me.

You were all right about my cats....Charlie and Frankie are careful not to pounce on me and being big loveable fur babies.

My fibro family is forever in my prayers...Know that I wish for you all only the best....

Glad to see you back and that everything is okay now. I know you have pain though and are tired. Thanks for posting and letting us know how you are. You have been through a lot. You probably need some rest. Keep up with the breathing exercises.

I have been away for 3 days, and i couldnt wait to get home and post my best wishes to you......You were the insperation to start posting and you are truley one of the strongest and toughest women that I have had the privelage of knowing.......

Sometimes they follow with a bout of radiation or chemo, just to make sure they got it all. The nausea and pain is very normal, and our inner body saying "something is really wrong here." I went through that too when I first got sick, 4 years ago. Been in chemo off and on since. If I can make it in remission for a year, they will operate to get the rest and fix my eyes (my tumor has pushed out and down my eye some). I haven't made it to a year, longest for remission was just a couple of months.

ps cats are very smart, Skittles and Frankie (Oddly enough, we have a dog named Charlie LOL) are very sensitive to when I am pain. They will curl up next to me instead of on me. The dogs Charlie and Baby (Baby was originally Ariel) are a riot. Charlie pounces, and slobber kisses. Baby is paralyzed, and just loves to sleep next or on you. If she needs anything her tongue is in your nose. Not sure about those nostril kisses, but I don't mind the kisses on my eyes (I think she is detecting my tumor cuz she goes in a kissing frenzy there)
