First off, I developed
Plantar fasciitis about
10 years ago. My feet killed me up until really the last year ? Maybe 18 months ? {note: I never really believed all of that pain and suffering from my feet was from plantar f. and I told the Dr. I had been diagnosed with Fibro. Anyway...}
Now, one could argue that just losing 100 lbs is going to be a big help to ones feet. But none the less, I ALSO started wearing better shoes (I am a Merrill fanboy ;)}
And, I started out using these..... Kind of pricey, but these things work so well
These are mine....http://www.walmart.com/ip/Dr.-Scholl-s-Custom-Fit-Cf-340-Orthotic-Inserts-1-pr/12442800?findingMethod=rr
And they are SOO crazy durable, that I have two pairs, that have been through 3 pairs of shoes each, from new to worn out ! :)
Highly recommend these if you have foot pain, and can afford them.

But since I'm a poor guy, when I bought two new pairs of shoes a few weeks ago, I decided to give these much cheaper ones a shot. Really not so bad, so far.

Foot pain really sucks :( Just slows your whole roll. Used to be particularly bad for me on a long drive, and once I got to my final destination, I had to hobble around in pain for a few minutes to gain my composure.
Fortunately, I've been stomping up my favorite hill, and running back down.... 1000ft climb, 4.2 mile rt, on uneven terrain, broken pavement, compact gravel, loose gravel, etc... with zero pain afterward, twice a week, and tomorrow its time once again ;)
Hope these help some of you...
Peace,
Fish
