Here, in Oregon, it is either the Dollar Tree running a fundraiser, Operation Homefront. Sorry, I always get those two stores confused.
Homefront is very close to my heart. I've been apart of this since, well when I realized I needed to support our soldiers, veterans and Gold Star Families. I've been an active military supporter through my brother's and his K9 partners names, as a way to honor them and their sacrifice. Also, to let the families of soldiers know despite our loss, we will stand by our soldiers no matter what.
The Dollar Tree is doing a fundraiser for children of soldiers. For a dollar, you can donate a game, book, stuffed animal, so many things. You pick out what you want to give. You can even sign it, if you chose. So far I have donated, in the last two days around 20 dollars, that is 20 things for the children to have.
Please, if you can help please do. Despite my losses, I'd like to see the smile on children's faces receiving presents. Some probably don't understand about war, as many are young. Operation homefront gives so much more than toys and games too. They help our Armed Force Families that are in need. The families that gave us freedom need our help, so why not help them? You can donate, volunteer, so many things
