UPDATE: Could i have fibromyalgia?

So i just got home from my doctors appointment and he diagnosed me with Myalgias. He gave me a prescription for pain. While at the office he had me get blood drawn for a CBC, Thyroid and some other one that i cant remember. He told me once the results were i he would give me a call and we would go from there. Does anyone know exactly what are myalgias? is it the same as fibro?i know i should of asked the doc but my anxiety and nervousness took over me and i forgot. Im just hoping that what i have is not serious and i pray that nothing else is wrong with me.

And welcome to the fibromyalgia forum. We have a fantastic thread called "fibro 101". It is the first thread on the forum. It has a list of symptoms that could most likely give you an idea if you have it. Myalgia is muscle pain. There is fibromyalgia, polymyalgia and probably more. I hope that you feel better soon. By the way, what did he give you for pain? Just curious...

Welcome to the fibro forum! I am glad your Dr. was able to hear you and give you something to keep you comfortable. Once you get the results of the blood test you can ask Dr. some more detailed questions. Do some homework on line and maybe that will help you also. Did he mention the word fibromyalgia? I hope yours is short lived, but if not this is the place to learn how to manage your pain and fibro.

Please let us know what you find out. This is a wonderful place to learn everything about fibro. I really have improved since I have started here. I learned more here then my Dr's shared with me.
