My Dr gave me Savella n send me to my regular Dr for pain med he told me today pain med isnt need for fibromyalgia.Really,no pain med just savella do anybody got any idea what to do,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My trust is still in God,

What state do you live in? Maybe someone lives there who can get you a referral.

Godly- If you feel that your pain warrants narcotics then you probably going to have to find a new Dr. and then probably that Dr. is going to have to want to refer you to pain management. Dr's are being told to limit and reevulate on how they dispence narcotics now. I know some Dr's dont want the problems assoiciated with taking long term narcotics. I think were just begining to see some major changes.

Dr's usually start on the lower end first with meds. You might be surprise how savella works. Give it some time. They usually dont start both first because they want to see how savella works first. I hope it works for you.

My doctor gave me both Savella and Vicodine. But I do know that there have been some studies that show that narcotic painkillers don't help people with Fibro. Not sure who they're studying there. I know we're all different, but how did they find only a group that got no help from narcotics to run the study with?

When I first started taking Vicodin I ended up taking two a day, 1/2 a pill every 6 hours. Then through a mess up between my dr and my pharmacist I was forced to go a weekend without any. My pain levels shot through the roof and i wasn't able to function. I swore that I wouldn't take them any more. Eventually my pain won out. I've found a routine that works for me now.

In the morning I take 1/2 of a Vicodin and 1 600 mg Ibuprofen. I don't need to take anything the rest of the day once i can get up and moving. I'm also taking Savella as well as a bunch of supplements. I've also found that acupuncture really helps with my stiff muscles. Everything takes time. It was a couple of months before I had measurable relief with the Savella. It took a couple of months for the acupuncture to make a difference too.

I live in Crossett Arkansas my fibro Dr is in Sherveport La I am still in pain ankle is swollen knees hurting my back is oooooooo i feel a trip to the er is coming can anyone help me,,,,,,

Have you looked up on lupus.org to see a list of rheumatologists in your area?
