Hi Fibro Girl,
Finding the right job for a Fibromyte is definately a delicate balancing act. I too have a degree in Business Management. If it isnt too late, however, I would recommend you change to Business Administration. Very similar course load but it is intended for more "upper", thus less physical, management.
My story is neither typical or extraordinary. I battle my Fibro on a daily basis like everyone else. But in order to do my job (Area Supervisor for 12 foodservice locations) I had to get off all the medications. They were contributing to the "fog" and making it difficult to perform my duties. I am a 40 year old man so I can still tolerate the pain......which means I do my best to ignore it. I fight through the fatigue and force myself to get active which helps me build adrenaline. I have alot of tools I use to help with my memory and forgetfullnes. I have a planner and multiple notebooks. I recently upgraded to an iPhone 4s with Siri to set reminders and utilize the Note aps.
I know my relatively young age and my athletic background gives me a leg up on many people challenged with Fibro because they help me push my body.....so my strategy isnt for everyone, but it has allowed me to maintain my income and have as close to a normal life as is possible.
I have tried all of the meds and for me they only made me drowsy and more "foggy" than before.
Good luck and I hope you find a Management position that requires less physical labor and are able to utilize as many tools as you can to battle the fatigue, fog, and forgetfulness.
It can be done.
