Not saying carbs are bad for you. It's just that "if" you want to eat pasta, potatos, rice, and bread products, then the serving size needs to be {IMPO} ridiculously small.
"IF" a person can eat these things in VERY small quantities, hey that's great ! Have at it. Problem is, many {most ?} people eat WAY too much of these processed carbs, which is not good for anybody, and 10 X's worse, for anybody with Fibro, and / or IBS.
For myself, its much easier just to completely eliminate pasta, potatos, rice, and bread products from my diet.
Funny thing is, I still probably eat 2 to 3 X's as many cals daily as most of you. I break even at about 3800-4000 cals a day.
I guess my diet could be best described as the Paleo diet (tons of meat and veggies) with one notable exception.... I eat two 3/4 cup bowls of rolled oats every day, 1 with breakfast, and 1 with dinner.
The way I have learned it, is that a person has to try hard, not to get too many carbs, try a little bit, not to get too many fats, and pay attention to make sure they get enough lean protein.
Do this ^ and then do whatever you have to burn it all up. The sooner you can do that, then the sooner you can eat more :)
Ditch those heavy, starchy, processed carbs (for at least 6-12 months) and see if it doesn't help your Fibro and related health issues.
Peace,
Fish
