Has anyone else started in on making changes in the new year? I've never been one for New Year's resolutions, mostly because starting them on January 1st seems really arbitrary. I did, however, make some goals for the year. I quit smoking, for one, cold turkey. Today is day 7 and while it does suck somewhat, it's getting better. I also have a goal to lose weight. I'm also trying to reduce or eliminate the metoprolol that I take, partly because I'm pretty sure it's made me gain weight. I've seen a lot of anecdotal evidence online that metoprolol causes weight gain, and that it's very difficult to lose the weight while you're still on it. I remember that the last time I stopped taking it I lost about 50 lbs, which might have been just coincidence.
