For a long time I had problems with my stomach and intestines, so I would stay away from spicy foods and would eat a lot of food with fiber in it (wheat, rye, bran, etc). I was brought up to believe that milk products were very good for the bones.
I have been doing this for as long as I can remember and at the same time I was always sick to my stomach, my intestines were always out of whack, I was always weak, lots of skin tingling and restless leg syndrome. I have stayed away from eating beef stew because about 18 years ago, every time I had beef stew I would literally pass out before I would finish my stew. It took me a while to figure out what was causing it and then one day I was reading a book about what food does to your body and I came to a page that said that all types food allergies can affect people differently. So I knew it wasn't the beef cause I eat beef once in a while and also eat vegetables and I am fine, so what was left was the barley. One day I added barley in my soup and mad sure I was not alone and tried it. Well, guess what same thing happened, I got so weak to the point of passing out. NO more barley for this girl.
about 2 months ago my stomach and intestines were getting worse and worse and I was talking to my mom about it and she said "you probably are allergic to some of the food you are eating". See my mother has a lot of food allergies, but I never taught I would be too.
The first thing I did is removed all milk products from my diet. I started to feel a bit better but there was something else that I was eating that was making me sick. So I stopped eating wheat, bran, grains and soy. Today all the bad symptoms I had for years are gone and I feel a lot better.
You know when we eat food that causes inflammation that can unbalance your body in so many ways.
In another word I am now gluten free.
