Off for a road trip

I don't have enough family left for a family reunion - in fact, I've never been to one. So it sounds wonderful to me...

I actually prefer driving most of the time....I guess because it's something I can actually DO. (Not at night on the highway, though...can't see a thing.)

Anyway, you've got a good game plan. I hope it all works out, and you come through it with flying colors -and no extra pain at all! :)

Family reunions are so much fun!  I know the trip can be hard.  Take a copy of the stretching exercises in Fibro 101.  They can be done sitting down.  Give the driver a lot of water to drink so they need to make bathroom stops! 

 

I hope you do a lot better than you think you will.  A family reunion is worth it, I think.  I'd love to see everyone again.

The trip down wasn't too bad. I was able to get a stretching break and I distracted myself with computer games. My niece's car door shut on my foot when I was trying to climb out of the backseat. I told her that her car bit me. LOL!
The motel bed was like laying on rocky ground. I couldn't find a comfortable position. I finally passed out from exhaustion, but kept waking up all through the night.
When I woke up my family was laughing at how stoved up I was walking around. I was in a total & very painful fog. I popped a few painkillers and took a hot shower to wake me up and loosen the joints.
I had a great time visiting all of my father's relatives. All of his brothers and sisters (save one) were there. Almost everyone of them and a few older cousins had either a roller or a cane.
We stopped by and saw my mother's only living sister in the nursing home. She has severe dementia and doesn't recognize anyone not even her old photos of herself.
The ride back was tiring and there wasn't enough stretching breaks. I'm sitting here with my ankles so swollen that I've got them propped up. I'm fixing to climb into bed with my painkillers, relaxation video, and be off to dreamland.
I'm praying tomorrow will be a good day. Good-night.

Yes, hotel beds are always a chance. I usually will spend more to get a decent bed, and have a whirlpool and heated pool at the hotel. I decided that I would rather feel stiff from the fun I was having and not the bed I was trying to sleep on.

But you are home and saw family! Now, rest time.

Oh sorry, Joy. Not a nice feeling.
